In short, the you open the new page at the left pane no matter what links you click.

The left pane is named as Hot pane where the new page opens while the right pane is Cool pane.
Some web pages full of javascript might behave strangely but even so, you can exchange the pane manually.

Home button immediately takes you to the exclusive local search page on Cool pane.
When you search from this page, the search results is displayed on Hot pane.

In addition to it,
you can control where the pane separator sits,
so you can freely change the balance of the area of these panes.
